ITSSD Submits Comments in Response to WIPO Report on the International Patent System

During the 34th World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) General Assembly held in September/October 2007, it was decided that a Report on the International Patent System (the 'WIPO Report') would be submitted to the WIPO Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP).

The WIPO Secretariat subsequently released such a Report, in 'working document' form, during the 12th Session of the WIPO SCP, convened June 23-27, 2008.

As an organization recently accredited as an Ad Hoc Observer to the SCP [(See: Document SCP/12/2)], at: http://www.wipo.int/edocs/mdocs/scp/en/scp_12/scp_12_2.pdf ; http://www.wipo.int/edocs/mdocs/scp/en/scp_12/scp_12_4_rev.doc ], the ITSSD was invited to, and did in fact, submit its response/comments to the WIPO Report between October 31, and November 7, 2008.
